Grilled Radishes

Feel like you’ve fallen in a radish rut and need something else to do with your radishes? Looking for something to fill up that extra space on the sides of the grill? Maybe this recipe will help you out…

Bright red radishes look so darn lovely on a skewer, and grilling them cooks away the peppery bite that deters some folks from chomping into a raw radish. Check it out:

  • 1 bunch of radishes
  • olive oil
  • salt to taste

  • Preparation

    1) Drizzle some olive oil on a plate — just enough to cover the lower section of the plate. Trim the greens off the radishes, leaving about an inch of the leaf stems on the radishes. Trim the root-tails off the bottom ends of the radishes. Now chop the radishes in half longitudinally and arrange them cut-side-down in the olive oil. It’ll look something like this:

    2) Skewer the radishes.

    3) Toss ’em on the grill for a few minutes. When little spots of singeing start to show up on the radishes, they’re done. Pull the skewers off the grill, sprinkle the radishes with salt, and enjoy!
